#24. Missouri Tigers

Missouri’s Gary Pinkel and staff deserve a lot of credit in this recruiting class, nabbing a spot in our Top 25. They got a lot of talent at positions where you need talent, and as they enter the SEC, it will be important.

The top recruit is the clearly the nations top prospect. Wide Receiver Dorial Green-Beckham (DGB) decided to stay home and play for the in-state Tigers. The 6’6”, 225 lber, is certainly an SEC type talent. His chose the Tigers on signing day over Arkansas (where many believed he was going). His hometown of Springfield, MO is actually closer to Fayetteville, Arkansas than Columbia, Missouri.

DGB is good, but somewhat has to throw him the ball in order for him to be great. The Tigers got that guy to. The nations #10 quarterback, Maty Mauk chose Missouri back in July of 2011. Mauk is a 6’2”, 185 lbs quarterback, and the top Quarterback in the state of Ohio for the class of ’12.

Linebacker Donovin Newsom is also a talent worth recognizing. The 6’2”, 220 lber will be competing for early playing time as he has all the tools needed. He will be a very good SEC linebacker. He and fellow linebacker Michael Scherer (6’3”, 230 lbs) are expected to have big futures at Missouri. Both are from St. Louis.

The Tigers also landed a pair of very talented running backs. The first is Kansas City tail back Morgan Steward. Steward (5’11”, 195 lbs) definitely passes the look test. The other, Texas scat back Russell Hansbrough is the better of the two. We like both a lot.

The Tigers landed a few nice looking defensive lineman in Evan Winston (6’4”, 255 lbs), Harold Brantley (6’3”, 280 lbs), and Rickey Hatley (6’4”, 235 lbs).
